Summary0004097: Truncated voices audio issue
DescriptionSometimes randomly voice samples (e.g. "3-way activated" or "Power-ups rerouted to 3-way") are truncated/trashed (e.g. "....ups rerouted to...").
I tried to slow-down emu but didn't help.

All I can say is that sometimes happens, and I have to launch the game and play 1st level, at least 7-8 times before I can reproduce this audio issue. There is no reproducible pattern. Maybe audio samples get randomly trashed in memory by decrounch routine, I don't know...
Steps To ReproduceLaunch and play the game at least 10 times, with 040 or 060.

Confirmed.

It occurs if you skip the intro while the starwars scroll text is running (but not if you exit the intro as soon as possible).

Great work! Tested it for about 1 hour and couldn't reproduce the issue anymore :)

REQUEST: this game is incredibly hard... could add a new trainer option to double LIFE and maybe SHIELD (slowing down depleting bars)? I'm sure this game could have been much better if it was a bit more forgiving... with no need to enable unlimited energy/lives though.

Thanks for testing.

Attached a new slave with more energy (4x) (or less energy lost) in game and 8x in warp tunnel.

Set custom3=2 for more energy.

Tested but, that's too much making the game too easy…
Maybe two separate selectable multipliers (cycle gadgets: x1, x2, x3, x4...) for Energy and Shield? This would allow players to customize difficulty and make this game finally playable and enjoyable for everybody on their taste.
Would be interesting for example to play with Energy & Shield x2, or try with just Shield x4 and no other help… Would really improve the gameplay experience adding something that should have always been there from the beginning IMHO.

Well, the idea was to customize too hard gameplay, not usual cheats.
This was a technically stunning game but gameplay was definitely badly tuned and extremely difficult due to shortage of energy and shield. If there was a way to customize those two elements the whole gameplay would benefit. Cheating with infinite lives etc it's lame IMHO, but customization options would make it more "complete" IMHO, a sort of Definitive Uncut Version ;)

That's exactly what I had in mind!
This game is finally fun to play (I use energy x2 and shield x3), but still not easy to beat, and you will die multiple times!
Much more balanced with customization IMHO.

BTW, I've noticed a little bug (?) with last slave: setting Shield x2 or x4 make warp tunnels = unlimited energy… Shield x3 makes it much easier (= much more energy in tunnel sections).
